Sports

At The Belham we are proud of our commitment to providing a range of sports and opportunities for our pupils.

We recognise the importance of physical activity in a child's overall development, and offer a wide range of sports and fixtures to cater to various interests and abilities.

PE is taught to children in timetabled sessions twice a week by our in school specialists. Coach Lewis (PE) and Ms Vernon-Smith (Dance) teach each year group throughout the year as part of our commitment to the highest quality sports instruction.

The sports offer at Belham Primary is designed to be inclusive and to encourage every student to participate and discover their passion for sports. We take children out to fixtures as part of the PE Sport Network as well as other competitions organised by PE leads in the Charter Trust and other local schools.

Through this, we teach children how to deal with the emotions of winning and sometimes losing. Our competitive sports provision aims to ensure all students understand the value of being a good sports person. We encourage as many children as possible to represent the school in a competitive fixture.

In the past year we have participated in a range of sporting fixtures including:

  • Cross Country
  • Netball
  • Tag Rugby
  • Football
  • Multi-sports.
